The Coward

There is an old adage which reads "time and tide waits for no man." I would like to add a few more words to this adage. "Time and tide waits for no man and cowards will forever be stuck under their shell." Every time I sit around waiting for that moment to happen. Sometimes, I even force my way through it just to get to that moment. But when it comes, I fail to grab it, seize it and own it. And because of that, I often loose my advantage. My upper hand. For I am and will always be a coward till the moment I stop my unrealistic fears from consuming my ambitions and my desires.

The Unforgiving Nature

Sometimes I feel tempted but I know that I have to resist this temptation before it kills me the way a sacrificed cow is during the month of Ramadan. Slowly squeezing the breath out of me while I suffer a seemingly endless torture.
But before I resist this temptation, I need to understand the intricate architecture behind it. For if I do not, I may never completely eradicate this devil which has so staunchly hung behind my back. Like a lizard, feeding off my very spine. Making it weaker and more painful as the days go by. The temptation of lust.
Sometimes I wish I could understand and make sense of everything which goes on around me. Make sense out of the intricate and often unpredictable nature by which the nature of the homo sapien is defined. The mistakes I made is mostly to be blamed by my lack of understanding and education of this nature. And the evil part of it is that time does not have a reverse gear. Once moved forward, the only way to get backwards is through memories and contemplations. Often which I fail to learn from. I could say that I will not repeat those mistake in the future. But no matter how well I perform my given task, I will always be judged on the things that I have done in the past. This which I am capable of but have no intention to do so anymore. So, It is safe to say that a mistake is a mistake. Its like a cancer which sticks on to you no matter how hard you treat it. It takes more than forgiveness to erase a mistake. That is why, radio silence has been maintained. And that is why we have parted ways without saying goodbye. Without even knowing what went wrong.
But returning to the nature of the homo sapien. Why? Why I ask that you prefer to judge the future based on the past? Are we not entitled to change? Do we not have the liberty to tear off a page in history which we do not wish to have included in the history of our journeys? Is it fair then to say that once you have commit ed a sin, redemption is no longer an option? If it is so, why then do you pray for forgiveness in the temple where everyone including the followers, the priests, the prophets and even the gods are sinners? Why do all of this when you have agreed that a sinner doesn't deserve a chance for redemption? Aren't you then the real sinner? The sinner who condemns another human's life to misery and damnation just because of one page out of a million more good ones and potentially good ones has been tarnished. Then you my friend are just like the rest. Not one better. But aren't we all just like you? Unforgiving and often prejudiced though not knowing the magnitude of the actual situation?
When was the last time did you pass a vagabond off as a person who is just trying to make a living by being independent rather than a homeless man who is an eyesore to the community? When was the last time did you give something which has had bad reputation in the past a chance? Did you not listen to one opinion rather than the other just because it is popular? Who or what was your last victim of baseless prejudice? Get my point?

What Title?

You wouldn't like me if I were to have opened my mouth right now. So, I am will not say a word. Nothing at all. Because If I do, I will most probably have many people pondering about the true meaning of commitment and passion. And most probably despising me as well for bringing it up in the most unfashionable of ways. But the good thing is, like all people, I too have several angels or saints in disguise lurking somewhere. Ready to put me out of my unfavorable conditions at a moments notice. Makes you ponder about people who's statements are a paradox to their actions. Doesn't it?

Candle In The Wind

I know that you may feel like a well right now. A well ready spill its water over its walls. Especially after listening to the words which you mapped out before me. I can't help but imagine what it must have been like for you back then. A young flower enduring the world with nothing more to hold on to than the stick of death, the words of satan and a bunch of people who are only strong in the face of a weak opponent. But it's really hard to imagine you being all those things when my perception of you is indeed very much different from the words that you speak. But then again, don't we all hide behind smiles and sweet words just to cover up for our dirty little secrets and for our hardships? Perhaps the reason you did hide behind your smile was because I treated you with the amount of respect that you deserved and that you didn't want to disappoint me. And maybe that's why I didn't think of you the way you did about yourself. By making this statement, I do not wish to imply or to paint you as a bad person or anything within that respect. Because, I know that you are not. And I know that there is more to you than meets the eye. All you did was to make a few mistakes. Mistakes that a lost soul would normally do. I too have made many mistakes. Mistakes which I obviously regret and mistakes that I shall never be proud of. But I am glad that you have now managed to find a rope to hold on to. A rope so solid I wonder what power would be good enough to break it. And I hope that you will keep holding on to that rope and someday, hopefuly you will climb that rope. And once you have reached the top of that rope, you will be able to see that there are many more people like yourself who cling on to this rope of hope. Perhaps only then will you understand that what you did was only human. Maybe once you have realised that will you learn to forgive yourself. Once that happens, maybe you can help the other lost souls to climb this rope and enjoy the enlightenment that you now seek. I've always believed that life is indeed a million mile journey with alot of twists and turns and dead ends. But the wonderful thing about life is that it has its own road maps, junctions and u-turns. I hope that this has helped.Good night my dear. I hope you sleep well tonight. The promise I made to you is still etched in my mind. I will never forget it.

Hope

They say that hope is perhaps one of the most strongest element to keep a person going no matter what the circumstances. A cancer patient often finds solace and encouragement in the hope that his doctors will rid him of his cancer thus allowing him to live a little longer to take care of his family. A distraught mother often prays and hopes that her rude son would one day turn over a new leaf and repent his mistakes. Just like how the news of arriving reinforcments would boost a soldiers morale to fight on eventhough he has lost his entire battalion and the enemy is closing in fast. A person on the verge of suicide can be stopped b an excellent negotiator who offers him hope of a better life.
They say that to take hope away from someone is cruel. What if all these people were robbed of their hope? The cancer patient would have died and who would be there to look after his family? The mother would have written off her son thus creting another menace to society. The soldier would have given up fighting thus loosing his army a strategic stronghold, The suicidal person would have jumped and would have caused devastation to his loved ones.
Therefore, no matter what the circumstances. Hope should never be taken away from someone. A life without hope is like a body without its bones. Everything would just collapse.
