People

You are all the most important people to me and no one can ever take that away from us. You accepted me regardless of my flaws, you cheered me up when I really needed the support. You listened even though sometimes you didn't agree or when you couldn't understand. You made me feel like a million dollars though I knew that I only had as much as a cent in my bag. You made me believe that I could fly eventhough my wings were clipped. You told me truth when it mattered most and you've always steered me away when I went way of track. Most importantly, you made me feel like I am a human and you gave me a place to stay, somewhere I knew that I am welcomed. Somewhere I belong. For that I wish to convey my gratitude, my word, my services,my deeds,my love. For I am truly awestruck to be gifted with the people that I have with me. My only hope is that it will forever be this way for I see no other motivation that keeps me going strong. And I hope that you've all felt the same way about me.

Window In The Skies

The shackles are undone
The bullets quit the gun
The heat that's in the sun
Will keep us when there's none

The rule has been disproved
The stone it has been moved
The grave is now a groove
All debts are removed, ooh

Oh can't you see what love has done?
Oh can't you see what love has done?
Oh can't you see what love has done?
What it's done to me?

Love makes strange enemies
Makes love where love may please
the soul and its striptease
Hate brought to its knees

the sky over our head
we can reach it from our bed
you let me in your heart
And out of my head, head...

[Window in the Skies lyrics on http://www.metrolyrics.com]

Oh can't you see what love has done?
Oh can't you see what love has done?
Oh can't you see what love has done?
What it's done to me?

Oh, oh, oh, oh...
Oh, oh, oh, oh...
Please don't ever let me out of you

I've got no shame
oh no, oh no

Oh can't you see what love has done?
Oh can't you see?
Oh can't you see what love has done?
What it's doing to me?

(I know I hurt you and I made you cry
Did everything but murder but you and I
But love left a window in the skies
And to love I rhapsodize
to every broken heart
for every heart that cries
Love left a window in the skies
And to love I rhapsodize)

Fleeced

As much as I would like to say a few words, I realy don't have the ability to do so simply because of this. A feat of larceny was committed upon the Music Club by a group of lion dancers and upon a certain Justin Foo by an unnamed suspect(s). And the perpetrators have yet to be caught. Good Night.

When Time Does Not Fly

Its 5.03 pm and I am all alone in the library. Not literally alone but alone in a sense that I don't think that I know anyone who are currently here. So, what on earth am I doing at the library at 5.03 pm? Good question. Well, last week a friend invited me to some Chinese New Year function which will happen at college in about an hour and a halfs time. Having nothing else to do at college after the hour of 4, I didn't want to go. But after some not so persistent asking, I decided to tag along anyways. Which means that I would have to unwillingly fork out a certain sum of money to pay for the tickets. Not that I am complaining or anything but I'm happier having money coming in than going out of my pocket. But this of course does not mean that I am a scrooge when it comes to spending. I've had my own fair share of overspending. Impulse spending as it is more commonly known.

But anyhow, I still have over an hour left, probably two given the nature of the plague which goes by the name of "Malaysian Timing", the one hour is more likely to become two. The worst part is that as I type, the heavens decided to pour all its grief upon us. Which of course means that all the stage props have to be taken down to shield them from the rain and refitted when the rain has stopped. Which means that further delays are next to inevitable. "Three cheers for the rain!"

On a random note, have you ever been in a situation where some people tend to look hauntingly similar to other people that we know and who couldn't possibly be because of certain factors? Well, I'm having one now. The guy sitting across me, on one of the study tables looks exactly like a friend who studies in the Malayan University. I doubt that it is him though.

On another note. I just found out, while staring at Anne's computer at the AUP Office that there is a certain term out there called cybersex. It is when people, adults actually gather online, webcams at the ready to enjoy sex. Not that I am interested or anything but the whole idea does indeed seem raher peculiar and absurd. But heck, if it keeps someone happy, who I am to comment? But the whole thing of me finding out was quite fortuitios. There I was reading about the Presidential Elections over MSNBC, minding my own business, and all of a sudden, I hear the phrase "How To Be Successful In Cybersex," coming from beside me. Immediately, I looked up and said "what?" Then the rest as they say is history.

Sigh, I'm here, all alone and I can slowly feel all sense of rationality escape me. Don't tell me that it doesn't. It is rather obvious. Plus the internet does get rather boring at times. Especially when the connection behaves like a shopping cart on oval shaped wheels.

Fade and Burn

When I began the year, I thought to myself about how laid back the first couple of months would be. And to be honest with you, I felt rather mixed about it. Happy that I would have more free time and screwed up about the fact that I couldn't think of anything to do to fill up all that free time. And somewhat true to my predictions, the first three weeks of the year has been rather boring. But its like they say, not all big bores are here to stay. And thankfully, the way I see it, in the coming weeks, I would be as good as pleading to the devil with my soul as a collateral for some free time just to watch Top Gear.

The reason? Well, apart from my studies, I have taken on huge responsibilities in three different clubs. All of them with one major event lined up for this semester. The first one, is that I'm chairman for the Music Fest. The second is being a photo editor who will work in a team to edit hundreds of pictures. The third is being a writer for the college magazine. Of course, each would come with stringent deadlines and tonnes of work and some eqully crazy planning. The best part is that I'm due a job in February. Plus we have quite a few gigs lined up for ourselves in March. So practicing could take quite an amount of time off my schedule. Time that I almost too happy to trade to live out one of my biggest passions along with the best dudes and dudettes I've ever known. Afterall, I only have a couple more months to hang out with them. So I might as well have one big blast. Like in the words of Kurt Cobain. It is better to burn out than fade away.

p,s. Nimitz is making a long due comeback...!!!

Bore

Today is an extremely boring day. But you know what, I had the good old gang from Top Gear to give me quite a few laughs. I couldn't stop watching the episode which featured that awesomely small car. It was hillarious. Watch it and you know what I mean. I think it is the second video on my previous post. I was so amused by it to the point that I really couldn't stop smiling even while I was trying to tackle some pretty difficult problems. Mental.

Then, Barack Obama made my day. His victory over at South Carolina was very refreshing. His speech was even more refreshing. That guy really knows how to speak and I do hope tha the does become the next President of the United States.

Jon and I too did quite a bit of thinking today. Who'd ever thought that solving a problem like that would be so difficult?

I took my dog for an hour long walk. This time I did not manage to get intimidated by other dogs.

So, that was pretty much my day. Very boring.

You Pest

And my first reaction was, who would you like me to punch? But upon learning of the truth my reaction then changed to, who would you have liked me to assassinate?

This is super annoying. If I had a chance, I would personally gun down all those who are in charge of the performance of Streamyx. These people know absolutely nothing about providing excellent customer satisfaction. The same goes to the idiots over at our national car company. The latest Saga is one load of bull droppings. I'd love to see what Mr. Clarkson over at Top Gear makes of it. I'd bet my bloody brains that it would become a stand up comedy than a car review show. Same goes to the idiots over at "The House" whose only only motivation is the size of their wallets.

The very reason why people in the west still swear by their gods that people over here are still living in tree houses and would gladly carry a bloody dagger to a bloody firefight when this is hardly the case.

Man On Mars

And so we hear news that the Nasa's robotic rovers over at planet Mars captured an image of a human like life form on Mars. While being a believer in the theory that we are not alone, I don't want to get into a position to say that the final proof has been delivered. But perhaps you can have a look for yourself.

Interesting isn't it? Who would have ever thought. But then again, it could just be an odd looking rock. Afterall, Mars has a uncanny history of having wierd shaped rocks all over its surface. The last one being three huge rocks that resembled the Great Pyramids of Giza, which somehow had the same build and orientation as the ones found here on earth. A conspiracy? Perhaps the American Government knows something that they just don't want to share.

Sigh 7

I've often had this belief that if you really want something, all you have to do is to dig real deep and then reach out to get it. And I'm pretty sure that nine times out of ten, I am hardly wrong in my assessment. No, its not me going over the top to shoot someone or anything, but instead, its just me simply stating the obvious of what really is. Now, you might want to appreciate the fact that while making this statement, I do not wish to direct my attention to any specific case or anything along those lines. But I would though, like to make a generalization of the fact that while it is true that by putting effort into our wants, there is a better percentage of us actually achieving it, not many of us actually follow relatively successful methods.

Obviously, not wanting to be a hypocrite by any measure of the yardstick, I do wish to include my name among those who have wanted something so badly but hardly put any effort into it. And personally, if you were to ask me I could give you a million on one reasons as to why I chose to take the passengers seat, if you prefer it that way, instead of taking the steering wheel by its rims and turning it whichever way I wished of it to turn. But when I actually sit down and ponder over it, I can't help but come to a conclusion that can be fit into this phrase. "I am nothing more than a coward who dies more deaths than he actually needs to." Which of course does prove true in so many journeys that I have either witnessed or taken place. The fight is often over even before the first blood is drawn. Either one or the other submitting to the terms of the opoosition without even a sniff of a negotiation or action. Extremely pathetic I can assure you.

And a common consequence of such an adventure is that we often miss out on life itself. Sometimes we are just too consumed in sitting in the passengers seat that we forget how to live life the way it is meant to be lived. That is us being in our own cars, our own hands, fighting tooth and nail for our own destiny. And when the journey finally comes to an end all we can do is look back and ask ourselves, like so many others, the damned question no one should ever ask themselves. "What if?"

I know all to well what it feels like to ask myself that question. And the moment I do, I often feel this deep surge of torment that would often engulf myself for a very long time and that feeling is not a very pretty nor a healthy feeling to be in. In some extremes, it can severly cloud your judgement and lead you into some of the most irrational acts and thoughts.

But the question is, will we ever ever live life to the fullest and never regret about anything? As far as the thought is willing to go, I don't think we ever will. There. Now that I've said it, I hope that you now know why I still am and most probably will continue to remain silent even after all these times. I can only ask for understanding the same way I ask for you to remain proud every single moment of your existence.

You Dog

I've finally started practicing my first real song all year. And that song is Buried Alive by the one and only Alter Bridge. The whole practice was rather fortuitous actually. The entrance riff of that song had been playing in my head for quite some time. And I really felt the vibe of that song. I have had the wanting to practice that song last year but I didn't go ahead because it required me tune my guitar to the Drop-C# tuning. But its like they say, if you put too much pressure in a pressure cooker and the steam is bound to burst out. But anyways, so I took my guitar out and proceeded to download the guitar pro file, saved it, turned it on, took out my guitar and played away. And I'm glad to say that I am quite happy with my first impressions actually. It sounds a whole lot harder to the ear than it does to the hands. But it can get a little tricky at certain parts of the lead lines. But I hope that I would be able to overcome that pretty soon. Another song which I should be learning is Rainmaker by Iron Maiden. Though the lyrics are pretty repetitious, the guitar lines are superb. Classic Maiden stuff.

But anyways, that was a rough update of what I've been doing for a significant part of the day. The other part, or more like a little over an hour, was me taking my dog out for a very, very long walk which proved to be quite a memorable dog walking trip. Actually, I was hoping for a little something when I decided to take my dog out that far but instead of having my dreams fulfilled, I had half the dogs barking viciously at ourselves and we almost got chased by a pregnant female dog. But the good thing was that it did not happen because they were all either tied up or locked up in their respective houses. I can't bear to think what would have happened had that not been the case. So much for trying to dream the probable but almost impossible. It was a good experience anyways, in a twisted way of course.

So that's what my day has been like. Oh, and I am a couple of pages away from completely reading a book on the Mafia which I bought last year.

The Dying of Kinshasha

I just read this over msnbc and thought that I should share it.

KINSHASA, Congo - War, disease and malnutrition are killing 45,000 Congolese every month in a conflict-driven humanitarian crisis that has claimed 5.4 million victims in nearly a decade, a survey released on Tuesday said.

The International Rescue Committee (IRC), which carried out the study with Australia's Burnet Institute, said Democratic Republic of Congo's 1998-2003 war and its aftermath had caused more deaths than any other conflict since World War Two.

"Congo's loss is equivalent to the entire population of Denmark or the state of Colorado perishing within a decade," George Rupp, president of the aid group, said in a statement.

The findings were published on the day Congo's government and warring eastern rebel and militia factions were due to sign a ceasefire in the hope of halting fighting in the east which has raged on since the nominal end of the 1998-2003 war.

Rupp said that although Congo's war formally ended five years ago, "ongoing strife and poverty continue to take a staggering toll." "The conflict and its aftermath, in terms of fatalities, surpass any other since World War II," he added.

Malaria, diarrhea, pneumonia and malnutrition, aggravated by conflict, were the top killers in Congo, the survey said.

"Most of the deaths are due to easily treatable and preventable diseases through the collapse of health systems and the disruption of livelihoods," said IRC director of global health programs Richard Brennan, one of the survey's authors.

Congo has the lowest spending on health care of any country in the world at an average of just $15 per person per year.

"If you're in the United States, we spend $6,000 per person per year," Brennan said.

The study was conducted between January 2006 and April 2007 in 14,000 households in all the country's 11 provinces. It updated previous surveys which estimated the toll from Congo's war at around 4 million.

Hopes for peace
The IRC said an estimated 727,000 people died in excess of normal mortality during the latest survey period. Children under the age of five were the hardest hit, accounting for nearly half of all deaths despite making up 19 percent of the population.

Before the latest survey, humanitarian workers had estimated that more than 1,000 people a day were dying in Congo.

"Since our last study in 2004, there's been no change in the national rate, which is nearly 60 percent higher than the sub-Saharan average," Brennan said.

But in the east, where rebel groups, local militia, and Congo's own army prey on civilians with impunity, the mortality rate is 85 percent higher than the sub-Saharan African average.

The vast former Belgian colony's 1998-2003 war sucked in its neighbors, as foreign armies and rebel groups vied for control of the country's rich natural resources. The conflict wrecked infrastructure already weakened by decades of neglect and corrupt leadership and forced millions to flee their homes.

A 2003 peace agreement led to the formation of a transitional government and multi-party elections were held in 2006, won by President Joseph Kabila.

Rupp said he hoped the peace deal for the east, due to be signed on Tuesday by the government, Tutsi rebels and Mai Mai militias, could finally draw a line under Congo's crisis.

"We hope this week's peace agreement in North Kivu will mean an end to the hostilities and a restart of reconciliation and recovery efforts," he said.

The IRC called for security reforms, increased spending on basic services like health care and continued support for the 17,000-strong United Nations peacekeeping mission in Congo.

"Recovery from conflict is clearly a protracted process, particularly when it's on the back of decades ... of economic and political decline," Brennan said.

"There are no quick turnarounds ... So the international community needs to be in there for the long haul," he added.

Sigh 6

Afraid to love again
Afraid to move again
Afraid to breathe again
Afraid to meet again
Afraid to make another memory
Afraid to have another thought
Afraid to create new bonds
Afraid to trust again
Afraid to take another picture
Afraid to lend my arms again

Crap....Must be all that chicken curry and good long swim and the absence of my rechargable batteries. And perhaps because of the fact that today is today and something is happening today.

The Tremble Of Excitement

The more they unveil themselves, the more and more beautiful they get. Their curves are nothing less than extraordinary. The determination to win etched all over their bodies. The more they unveil themselves, the more frightened I get. But they also make me wet with excitement. Feeding my insatiable appetite for raw action. The question is will they all keep me at the fringes of my seat the way they did the whole of last year? Will they be as dramatic as they were last year? That is what we are all dying to find out. The pundits have all sounded. But like always, we shall have to wait an see what happens when 22 V8 engines roar to life at the opening Grand Prix at Australia on the 16th Of March 2008.

Time

When I started the year, one of my resolutions was to make this the year of knowledge. What it essentially meant was that it was about time for me to stop wasting my time and start looking for means for me to gain more knowledge be it in mathematics, physics, history or just about anything that there is to learn. The reason I made this resolution was because I felt that I've been having more than my fair share of lazing around for the past year, doing things that hardly give me any benefits. Fast forward to about 20 days later, I still feel like I am wasting too much time. Too much time of this precious life. And what was worse is that a small passage in Jon's blog reminded me that this year I would be 20 years old. Age is slowly but steadily creeping up on me and it creeps me out more than anything else on the face of this planet. But that's the reality of life I guess. Time will always move. But whether or not I do, largely depends on me.

El Idiota

Lately there has been absolutely nothing for me to write about. Not in a sense that I don't have any ideas but more of how on earth do I ever get them to flow into something intelligible? Quite rightly, I should describe this period - this very long period, spanning over the past couple of weeks - as me being extremely lazy and somewhat clueless at times. Therefore, to fill up the spaces of this blog, I often find myself either inserting music videos from various artists during the dying hours of the day or simply stealing posts from other authors. But after doing so for as much as I have, I've had no choice but to come to a conclusion that it is rather pathetic that the works on a blog, which is by ethical standard, supposed to be from the creative geniuses of their respective authors, are now somewhat illegally plagiarised by one disrespectful blogger hiding somewhere in the concrete jungles of one of the most developed and heavily bridged urban landscapes in Malaysia. I completely deserve to be incarcerated by the heaviest of copyright laws. But heck, this is Malaysia. A land where committing even the greatest of atrocities can go unpunished as long as you have the money, the seats and the connections. Go figure.

On a more lighter note, I do feel like a complete idiot after what happened yesterday. What happened was that yesterday, I happened to perform at my first gig of the year. However it wasn't with my original band whom I so dearly want to sit and make some good music with. In fact, I only managed to be in a performance by the virtue of association. But anyhow, as we were practicing, about minutes before our slot, I was approached by this young man, around my age by the name of Kenneth. He asked if he could borrow one of our guitars so he could practice for his slot. As a person, I humbly obliged. Then, as he picked up the guitar, he asked my whether or not I knew the chords to the song Knocking On Heaven's Door. Having played that many times before, I answered yes. Then as he started playing, with me guiding him along on a second guitar, I started adding a little background vocals to his singing to a point where he asked me if I would like to join him on stage and back him up. For a person who could never sing even if his life depended upon it, I once again, obliged. So, we went on to practice to a point where both of us were mutually satisfied. Immediately after which was the beginning of my first slot with my other guys.

It was an acoustic set by the way. So naturally, I did have my reservations about the still recurring feedback problems. But when all was said and done, it was a rather satisfactory performance. And by the way, kudos to Kit Ming. He managed to spill some blood onto the guitar while playing. It was completely my fault. Halfway through the first song, I dropped my pick into the soundhole and there was no quick enough way for me to retrieve it without having to look like a fool on stage which I almost did with a few seconds of feverish shaking of the guitar. Thinking that Kit had an extra pick, I called out to him and signalled him to hand me a pick. Which he did. I took it and continued playing. But after the slot, he presented his bleeding fingers to us and told me that it was the reult of having to strum like a maniac without the aid of a pick.

But anyways, returning to the story. After my slot, our singer had to return. And along with it, our second guitar. Which meant that for Kenneth's slot, we would only have one guitar and he would have to go at it alone. I tried looking for him to relay the news to him but as fate would have it, I couldn't find him. And the best part was I couldn't remember what he loked like. All I knew was that I was looking for a Chinese guy who is wearing a black shirt and a pair of blue jeans. So, I quit trying to search and decided to just stand and look around. But after some loking around, I decided that I really couldn't find him and that it would be wiser that I left since I had nothing else to do.

On the way back, I realized that there was another guitar somewhere in the Students Affairs Office. But for some unfathomable reason, I just continued to walk home. And when I got home, it immediately dawned upon me that I had just ruined someones gig, which was a terrible thing to do. So to save what little I could, I tried calling my friends to look for him but unfortunately no one picked up their handphones. And the only one who did had already left. What luck.

Do something bad and it will return three times harder. I just hope that it does not apply to our next gig. El Idiota!!

Change The World

Imagine a place only your soul can vision
The heart of a child who looks, sees and listens
She paints a picture using every color
And what she sees, she sees is like no other

One word, a voice unheard
You can change the world
With everything I know you're made of
One word, a voice unheard
You can change the world
If everyone would stop and listen

The art of innocence make so much sense
But placed inthe wrong hands, well then it's wasted
Filtered throught he eyes of a pure mind
A one-of-a-kind paradise for you and I

Break the cycle, find your rhythm
Share the gift that you've been given

You can
You can change the world
You can change the world

A Beautiful Lie

She often tries to keep silent about the things that she doesn't want to let anyone know about. She would rather let its seeds sow where it would do more harm than good than to let it out where help awaits. All because she sometimes doesn't want to put others in a situation where they are at a loss as to what to do or to say to her. Or perhaps she doesn't believe that there ever will be any reliable help. Or at least that's what we think she is doing. Perhaps there is a more sinister reason for it. But will we ever know? But sometimes, inadvertently , through her own actions, her words, her expressions, she reveals to the world more than she had ever intended to. And as a result she often finds herself in situations where she finds difficulty in answering questions that are associated with her troubles. She stumbles upon her words and hardly finds clarity in them. Sometimes, she even covers for them with her white lies. But perhaps that's who she is and all that she will ever be. A beautiful lie. Unattainable for all the good reasons.

Sigh 5

You do know that it is perfectly alright to tell me that you are angry. Though it may not seem like it, I too am angry. No, I will not have any ill feelings towards you for displaying any emotion at all. Afterall it is only fair that you do so for it would be way too unhealthy if you kept it all inside, never to be told to anyone. Plus it is only human that you express it. Though I know it may not seem like it, I too frequently display the seas of my emotions quite frequently. Although people have a hard time guessing it. But its okay. I too have trouble looking past the mask that most people put on. But you know what, I'm perfectly fine with it. Afterall, we all have flaws and problems that we want to hide. I accepted you for who you are and have never demended anything more of you. But have you done so to me? Though I would like to believe that you have, somehow my instincts tell me that you haven't. But for our sake, I hope that I am wrong. But the thing is, you really don't care, now do you?

Rainmaker

When I was wandering in the desert
And was searching for the truth
I heard a choir of angels calling out my name
I had the feeling that my life would never be the same again
I turned my face towards the barren sun

And I know of the pain that you feel the same as me
And I dream of the rain as it falls upon the leaves
And the cracks in our lives like the cracks upon the ground
They are sealed and are now washed away

You tell me we can start the rain
You tell me that we all can change
You tell me we can find something to wash the tears away
You tell me we can start the rain
You tell me that we all can change
You tell me we can find something to wash the tears.....

And I know of the pain that you feel the same as me
And I dream of the rain as it falls upon the leaves
And the cracks in the ground like the cracks are in our lives
They are sealed and now far away

You tell me we can start the rain
You tell me that we all can change
You tell me we can find something to wash the tears away
You tell me we can start the rain
You tell me that we all can change
You tell me we can find something to wash the tears.....

And I know of the pain that you feel the same as me
And I dream of the rain as it falls upon the leaves
And the cracks in the ground like the cracks are in our lives
They are sealed and now far away

Stolen Post

Since there is absolutely nothing worth blogging about, or at least that's what I think, I decided to go post hunting. The objective is to look for a post, steal it and post it here. So, while I was hunting, I happened to stuble across this very amusing post and I decided to steal it. It is from Rachel's blog.

An Indian guy named "Anantharaman Subbaraman" arrived at the New York airport and ended up waiting for his visa for about 2 hours for the authorities to call his name. He got fed up and went to them and asked why they haven't called his name yet. They said that they have been calling him for the last 2 hours as * * * * * * "Anotherman Superman"

Teacher: History is a very interesting subject. It tells you about what
had happened in the past.
Student: Please teacher, I don't think I want to study history.
Teacher: Why?
Student: There is no future in it.

Teacher: Ted, if your father has $10 and you ask him for $6, how much
would your father still have?
Ted: $10.
Teacher: You don't know maths.
Ted: You don't know my father!

Mother: David, come here.
David: Yes, mum?
Mother: You really disappoint me. Your results are getting worse.
David: But I will only get my report book tomorrow.
Mother: I know that. But I am going to Hong Kong tomorrow, so I am
scolding you now.

Father: Why did you fail your mathematics test?
Son: On Monday, teacher said 3+5=8
Father: So?
Son: On Tuesday, she said 4+4=8 And on Wednesday, she said 6+2=8.
If she can't make up her mind, how do I know the right answer?

A mother and son were doing dishes while the father and daughter were
watching TV in the living room. Suddenly, there was a loud crash of
breaking plates,
then complete silence. The daughter turned to look at her father.
Daughter: It's mummy!
Father: How do you know?
Daughter: She didn't say anything.

Girl: Do you love me?
Boy: Yes Dear
Girl: Would you die for me?
Boy: No, mine is undying love

Man: How old is your father?
Boy: As old as me
Man: How can that be?
Boy: He became a father only when I was born

Waiter: I've stewed liver, boiled tongue and frog's leg.
Customer: Don't tell me your problems. Give me the menu card.

Teacher: Simon, your composition on "My Dog" is exactly the same as
your
brother's. Did u copy his?
Simon: No, teacher, it's the same dog!

Father: Your teacher says she finds it impossible to teach you
anything!
Son: That's why I say she's no good!

Teacher: "Where were u born?"
Student: " Singapore , Sir."
Teacher: "Which part?"
Student: "All of me, Sir."

A teacher was asking her class: "What is the difference between
'unlawful'
and 'illegal'?" Only one hand shot up.
"Ok, answer, Joan" said the teacher.
"'unlawful' is when u do something the law doesn't allow and 'illegal'
is
a sick eagle."

Teacher: "How come you do not comb your hair?"
Ah Kow: "No comb, Sir."
Teacher: "Use your dad's then."
Ah Kow: "No hair, Sir."

A boy came home from school with his exam results.
"What did u get?" asked his father.
"My marks are under water," said the boy.
"What do u mean 'under water'?"
"They are all below 'C' (sea) level"

Amazing no?

Death

Pain felt
Like a tonne of bricks it comes crashing down
Blood spilt, as the vultures roar above
Flesh picked as maggots slowly eat their way through
A gunshot was all it took
A moment of misguided anger the catalyst
A relationship torn
Many hearts the victim
Lives no longer complete
All that beckons is a courthouse
All that beckons is a jail cell
But what would that change?
Afterall,
What's gone is gone
A life lost is a life never to be found

Evil

I have loved to dabble in the dark arts. I enjoyed thinking of ways to perfect a crime which other idiots often get caught for by doing rather stupid mistakes. I loved the dark side of the human nature. And to some extent, even respected some of the most fearsome leaders and criminals. This led me to believe that I was somewhat evil. Not the evil type of evil. But evil in a rathere perverse way. So, I took a quiz, and this is what it said.

You are more EVIL than 98% of Facebook!
You are a dark, evil individual. Macabre thoughts and shadowy plans make you an individual to be feared. If evil were a professional sport, the Devil would be heavily recruiting you.

It does make me very proud.

Older I get

The walls between you and I
Always pushing us apart
Nothing left but scars fight after fight
The space between our calm and rage
Started growing shorter,
Disappearing slowly day after day

I was sitting there waiting in my room for you
You were waiting for me too
And it makes me wonder

The older I get
Will I get over it?
It's been way too long for the times we missed
I didn't know then it would hurt like this but I think
The older I get
Maybe I'll get over it
It's been way too long for the times we missed
I can't believe it still hurts like this

The time between those cutting words
Built up our defenses
Never made no sense it just made me hurt
Do you believe that time heals all wounds?
It started getting better
But it's easy not to fight when I'm not with you

I was sitting there waiting in my room for you
You were waiting for me too
And it makes me wonder

The older I get
Will I get over it?
It's been way too long for the times we missed
I didn't know then it would hurt like this but I think
The older I get
Maybe I'll get over it
It's been way too long for the times we missed
I can't believe it still hurts like this

What was I waiting for
I should've taken less and given you more
I should've weathered the storm
I need to say so bad
What were you waiting for
This could have been the best we've ever had

The older I get
Will I get over it?
It's been way too long for the times we missed
I didn't know then it would hurt like this but I think
The older I get
Maybe I'll get over it
It's been way too long for the times we missed
I can't believe it still hurts like this
Hurts like this

I'm just getting older
I'm not getting over you I'm trying to
I wish it didn't hurt like this
It's been way too long for the times we missed
I can't believe it still hurts like this

Ingreats

When they reach their hands out, desperate for help, you somehow, through extraordinary odds reach out and grab their hands so that they would not fall. Each time they slip, you are there to break their fall. Each time they cry, you are there to hold them in your hands and wipe away their tears. Each time they call, you answer immediately, regardless of the predicament you are in. Each thime they are short on anything, you dig deep, sometimes exhausting your own resources just so that they can smile for that much longer. And all the while you hardly feel the pinch. Because, it makes you happier to see them smile just that little more and the cost of that will never be too expensive. But when it comes to returning the favor, these people are nothing but the worlds greatest ingreats. Everytime you ask a favor, even one that is hardly troubling, they snub you. They always give you excuses that hardly make any sense. But they expect you to be there for them everytime they need you. I really don't know what kind of a game is being played here. But all I know is that it must stop before somebody gets hurt or does something stupid.

The Influential Election

Like most people, I assume, I too have been caught up in the election fever that is currently enveloping the entire world. No, I do not speak about the bore-fest that is the upcoming Malaysian elections (We can already confirm the results even before the nation goes to polling). But instead, I speak of one of the most exciting and most influential elections in the world. And that is the elections for the President of The United States Of America.

Of course, as in most elections, there are a few active candidates in contention for the vote. But among all the active candidates, my vote, though I am not an American, goes to this amazing person. A person who we all thought will never exist in the dog eat dog world of politics. A person who expounds the idea of hope to everyone whether or not they are republican, democrat, independent, American or non American. A person who believes in winning not by shoving another person down but by debating on issues that benefit us all. A leader on humans. A person with extraordinary oratory skills that are rightfully paired to his ability to walk his talk, it is my pleasure to introduce to you the candidate of my choice. Mr. Barack Obama.

I find this speech especially uplifting due to the common idea of hope and change which most of us so desperately need and to the idea that no matter who we are or what we stand for, we are all of one race, one belief, one culture and that is the human race. An idea that is quickly being diminished by religious leaders. It made the hairs on my back stand up and goosebumps to come all over me.

This next speech describes how an ex-Presidential candidate who was up against George Bush in 2004 endorses Barack Obama as the better man to lead the United States and the world into a much brighter future.

This next one, in a speech entitled "The Audacity of Hope" was orated by Barack Obama during the 2004 National Democratic Convention. I believe that in a world where our differences are often made into an excuse to wage war, this man will take our world out of this phase and revolutionize the way we live our lives.

Part 1

Part 2

I hope you enjoyed the post. But before I we part ways, listen to this speech made by noneonther than the great Reverend Martin Luther King himself. I Have A Dream. The day most said would never come.

The Stalker

With the aid of a computer and the feeling of curiosity, she kept digging and digging until she found out what she had needed to find out. Though no one can really understand why she had to dig for something that isn't really pivotal nor instrumental in accomplishing anything, she felt a huge surge of pride. A pride that doesn't really benefit her in anyway except for the knowledge of knowing that the both of them aren't really separated by oceans or deep ridges, but separated only by a hair's breadth. Or at least this is what she makes of it. But in reality, no matter how closely connected they may be, there is still that element of separation that keeps them from each other. An element which there isn't any logic to. An element of fear of venturing into something which at least one of them sees no benefit in pursuing. After all, so what if she did? Would she then have to ask him a question in which his reply would simply be "Yes I do. But so what? Does in even concern you?" What, what would be the worth of such a foray? We as spectators may never know. But only she does. Only she will ever understand what she does. For secretly, she is a stalker. A stalker of epic proportions. One who is willing to do whatever it takes just so that she would be able to feel that much closer to him. Eventhough she hardly will ever be through such unorthodox methods. But then again, who are we to ever understand how a stalker thinks, feels and perceives all that goes around them? Unless we ourselves are stalkers. Which isn't such an absurd idea after all.

Sigh 4

The road down the path seems more foggy now than it was before this. Though I know that I have made some sound progress, managing to wade through all these uncertainties, it is almost too difficult for me not to realize that while making all those progress, I failed to notice some of the most obvious of signs. They were plastered all over, screaming in fact, but I was too distracted to understand, too deaf to listen. But now that I know that it exists, I know what I have to do. Of course, I don't know what to expect or I wouldn't know to what extent what I see is real, but at least perhaps now I can be a little smarter, a little more calmer and a little less gullible than I was before. No longer for me to melt, they are for me to analyze and to delve over. But what I fear most is me returning to where I was, or in some cases, still am, a thinker who thinks too much and looses out on the opportunity, too afraid to bitten again, too afraid of being bitter again. But than again, it is sometimes better to be bitten a few times than too loose out always and then have to mull over what could or what should have been. Regrets, in other words. I swore to live with no regrets, but, somehow I know that for this I will always have to live in wonder. But come the end, would I be able to go in peace? Or will I still linger around, like a ghost, haunting the thoughts of what should have been?

Be With You

Monday night I feel so low
Count the hours they go so slow
I know the sound of your voice
Can save my soul
City lights, streets of gold
Look out my window to the world below
Moves so fast and it feel so cold
And I'm all alone

Don't let me die
I'm losing my mind
Baby just give me a sign

And now that you're gone
I just wanna be with you
And I can't go on
I wanna be with you
Wanna be with you

I can't sleep and I'm up all night
Through these tears I try to smile
I know the touch of your hand
Can save my life

Don't let me down
Come to me now
I got to be with you some how

And now that you're gone
Who am I without you now
I can't go on
I just wanna be with you

I Am Immune

You know what, it is slightly funny to think about just how many times I have remembered sitting on one doctor's chair or another over the past few months. In fact, it would be safe to say that medically, the previous 12 months have been my most active. But after the latest one, which happened today, I look like an army general. What happened? Well, I got immunized. Two immunizations in fact. One for Hepatitis B and Meningitis. Both required as a medical procedure before I leave for the United States this coming fall. But that's the least of my worries. Or at least I think it is.

You see, I have a problem with needles. Every time I look at a needle I always imagine a scene where one comes flying in the air and poking me in the eye, or poking me at places all over my anatomy. In fact, I resent all those who bring a needle anywhere near me. Feel my pain yet? Imagine being told that you would come eye to eye and then pierced with two pointy needles in less than two minutes. I started to feel stiff all over.

Then, in a slow movement, the doctor rung the bell, signalling for the nurse. "Hepatitis please," said Doctor Habeeb. And with that, the nurse walked into the dispensary and came out with two white boxes. One for meningitis and the other for hepatitis. All I could do was to sit and hope for the best. The last time I took an injection, which was back when I was 17, I started singing the chorus Paradise City in front of the male nurse and was told to shut up.

As soon as the doctor had taken the boxes, he opened them, stood up and walked to a table opposite his table. Then I heard the sound of clanging metal. "That's it," I thought to myself, "I'm a gonner for sure." In my mind, I couldn't help but imagine a large srynge with a huge pointy needle sticking out of it. I vowed not to look at it for if I did, I would most likely flinch. But as fate would have it, I saw the needle. But to my absolute surprise, and I stress the phrase absolute surprise, the needle was not as big and pointy as I had imagined. It was rather puny. But still, my mind conjured up all sorts of painful thoughts. Then, at a stroke, he came up beside me, lifted the sleeves of my shirt and started rubbing something on my arm. In an instant, I looked away. Then while looking away, I felt a slight poke. He had poked it in. It was over. Just like that. No pain at all. Nothing. I sighed a sigh of relief.

Well, that was the first one. The second one was yet to come. "Hepatitis would be more painful,"said the doctor. I braced myself. I started thinking that the big needle was about to be brought out. I looked away, but as fate would have it, again, I looked at the needle and to my absolute horror, the bloody needle was as puny as puny could be! But still, I was not about to watch it pierce me, so i looked away. And just like before, he rubbed some substance on my left arm and proceeded to prick me. But this time, it was slightly more painful but on a scale of one to ten, I would have to give it a very respectable zero point one. With that, he pput away his needles and I had been imunized. But the catch was, I had another two more injections to go before I complete my hepatitis immunization.

So that was my experience being immunized. But there's one problem though. I now have two plasters on my arm. One on each side where the needle pierced. I'm too afraid to take them out. I fear being waxed alive by those two plasters. Why on earth did he ever have to put those plasters there? Wouldn't a cotton have done the job and save me the problems?

Sigh 3

Who ever thought that it would be as difficult as it is? All,they say, that we have to do is to try, is to look out with our eyes and place an enquiry. But what happens when doing so fails to give you even a slight glimmer of hope. Or at least that is what you make of your own inefficiencies. What should I believe in now?

Disenchanted

It makes you do stupid things. It somehow disables your normality every time that you are faced with it. It makes you become someone else. Someone whom you're neither proud not disgraced at. You just cannot decide. But whatever it is, it is what defines you when it counts most. It speaks for you just like how an open book presents its ideas before its readers or a television show that acts itself out for all to watch. But the only person who fails to realize it is the character itself. It needs others to tell it what it is doing, it needs a mirror, or else it wouldn't realize. But it is what it is. That is how it exists among others who are also like it, oblivious to their own plays.

2008 : The Curtain Raiser

My first post for the year 2008 and I don't know what to say. I guess it is a new year for everyone and with it comes new beginnings and not to forget the ever important but often forgotten, resolutions. As for me, 2008 is a continuation of an already extraordinary journey from being a clear underdog to one who is slowly but steadily developing and finding his place in this ever changing world. Obviously, I have so many things that I want to achieve but this time I am going to keep a lid on the amount of things that I want to accomplish just so I concentrate on each of them and not have too many and accomplish only a few like I did in all my previous years of existence. One more thing, I do hope for more fun as the year goes on. What else is there to say?
