My Next Task

Should I sound intelligent, or should I come across as a funny man? This is exactly the dilemma which I am facing for my next task. Today, we were given an assignment which carries a grand total of 10 percent. What this assignment requires us to do is write an informative speech in not less than 800 words. This assignment will be due on the 16th of June. According to Ms. Kalai, we can write about anything that we wish to write about. Its an open speech. But the problem is, I don't quite know what to write about. My idea for the speech is that I want it to sound intelligent, mysterious, thought provoking and funny at the same time. A huge task, considering that I have to keep all the elements of a good speech in equilibrium. Therefore, I was hoping for some help from anybody who is reading this right now. I need for you to help me to pick a topic which you think that is intelligent, mysterious, thought provoking and funny at the same time. It must also be a pressing issue which the world faces.
I have though of a few topics. What I have thought about is Feminism In The 21st Century, Black Gold:The Bloody Quest For Oil, Blood Diamond, Children and Guns: Do They Make A Perfect Marriage?, Gun Control Laws, The Wars Within Our World, Global Terrorism, Is Religion Necessary in Our Modern World?, UFO: Fact or Myth, The Teenage Challenge, Are Ghosts Real?.
These are some of the topics which I could think of. I have about two to three days to decide on which topic I would like to write about. I need to accomplish this quickkly because I need to research for materials.

Country Roads

I love this song. Reminds me of what good musicians are. And believe it or not, a friend of mine and I will be playing this song for Talent Night. I will be singing the chorus while playing the lead guitars.

A Journey Revisited

I woke up today,
Gripped by fear.
Gripped with anxiety.
Its clammy hands,
Sucking the air out of me.

I woke up today.
Gripped by the unknown.
Gripped by the deceased.
Their grip so tight,
I didn't know if I could fight.

I stayed up last night,
Waiting for it to come,
Waiting for it to acknowledge.
They took so long,
I went to sleep.

Yesterday night,
I sent a bird out.
To a far away land.
But it returned,
Intercepted.

Yesterday night,
I braved the dark,
Hoping for light.
All I found was a deeper tunnel.
With no room to go.

Five days ago,
I wrote a letter,
A letter without an intention.
Today it returned,
Marked unsent.

Today,
I learnt a lesson,
I paid my dues.
Dues so expensive,
They left me broke.

I begin to wonder,
Was it all worth my time?
Was this all just another prop?
Was this all just another script?
With the message no?
A journey revisited.

The Unfulfilled Dream

Since the year of 2000 I have been waiting and waiting. Waiting and hoping that someday, in the not so distant future I will celebrate along with the Flying Finn. Two years later, it still never came. He bowed out with his final victory at the Brickyard. Instead of loosing hope, I gained hope in another Flying Finn. The Finn whom they all said would sweep the world of their feet. He came inches into fulfilling that promise, but was ultimately denied of his place due to the sloppines of his family. The same family that had won the previous Flying Finn two honors while robbing him of even more. So, the next year came, and like the previous ones, they all went up in smoke. After two remarkable Flying Finns and seven years later, this dream still eluded them. Therefore, after five frustrating years of wearing the silver overalls, this new Flying Finn decided to dress himself in the overalls of the family who gave the Red Baron five of his seven honors.
The year started well for this Flying Finn. He dominated the entire field during his first outing with his new family. Everyone started getting excited. Would this finally be the chapter in the history when this Flying Finn finally picks up his deserved honors? Everybody thought so. No one dared bet against it. But now, five outings later, the excitement has waned. The Flying Finn is now miles behind in the race to his dreams. While his old family crushingly dominates everybody else.
All this while, I sit here, frustrated and angry. Hopeless and lost for the past seven years. Still living in this unfulfilled dream.

Blades Of Glory

Good movies just aren't being made these days. I just finished watching Blades Of Glory and what do I have to say about it? Apart fom its comedy, its just like turning crocodiles and snakes into an Italian handbag, boil it in hot water, and then sell it for 5000 bucks!

The Resurrection Of Kurt Cobain

Isn't this scary or what? He sounds exactly like Kurt Cobain. Its like Shaun Morgan of Seether had been possessed by Kurt himself!
