The Unfulfilled Dream

Since the year of 2000 I have been waiting and waiting. Waiting and hoping that someday, in the not so distant future I will celebrate along with the Flying Finn. Two years later, it still never came. He bowed out with his final victory at the Brickyard. Instead of loosing hope, I gained hope in another Flying Finn. The Finn whom they all said would sweep the world of their feet. He came inches into fulfilling that promise, but was ultimately denied of his place due to the sloppines of his family. The same family that had won the previous Flying Finn two honors while robbing him of even more. So, the next year came, and like the previous ones, they all went up in smoke. After two remarkable Flying Finns and seven years later, this dream still eluded them. Therefore, after five frustrating years of wearing the silver overalls, this new Flying Finn decided to dress himself in the overalls of the family who gave the Red Baron five of his seven honors.
The year started well for this Flying Finn. He dominated the entire field during his first outing with his new family. Everyone started getting excited. Would this finally be the chapter in the history when this Flying Finn finally picks up his deserved honors? Everybody thought so. No one dared bet against it. But now, five outings later, the excitement has waned. The Flying Finn is now miles behind in the race to his dreams. While his old family crushingly dominates everybody else.
All this while, I sit here, frustrated and angry. Hopeless and lost for the past seven years. Still living in this unfulfilled dream.
