A Guitar Pick

Life is like a guitar pick. You're only useful whist you're still sharp. But once you become blunt, you will end up being discarded into a bag, along with all the other blunt picks. Never to be used again. Of course, a blunt guitar pick can never be sharpened again.

Yes folks, its 2 am and here I am blogging. Don't blame me. I went to bed at a little over 12 am. But, I couldn't sleep a wink. The sandman must have forgotten to throw sand all over me tonight. So, I decided to go online hoping that it will induce sleep. But I guess it looks like that I will only be able to anjoy a 5 hour sleep at best. I have to wake up early tomorrow. I have some studying to do.

Public Speaking

Public speaking. A task that I am sure most of us would think about as a fate worse than death. Statistics show that at least 52% of us think so. Yes, and that 52% includes me. Therefore, to rid myself of this problem, I have taken it upon myself to enroll in public speaking classes for this semester. And as fate would have it, I made my very first impromptu speech about myself on the first day of lecture. I was to equate myself to a fruit or an animal or to anything that I wished to equate myself to. I was horrified. The only time I ever did a decent public speech was during history trials in which my persistent argument forced Ignatius into swearing. So, when my name was called by Ms. Kalai I slowly stood up and walked towards the front of the class. I cleared my throat and started with an ermm... But I can assure you that I wasn't nervous. I was simply fresh out of any ideas as to what to equate myself to. In the end, I equated myself to a stick insect due to my lack of flesh. Of course, when I mentioned my previous weight, the class laughed. But after that, my following sentences only managed to draw blank stares. That's when I decided to stop speaking and get back to my seat. And this whole process lasted for a mere 30 seconds or so. So, the next time I ever go up to speak, I shall remember to prepare at least a decent introduction. Pretty much like the way I arrange my words for my blog.
But honestly, I do hope to become a better speaker once this course is over.

Superstition

I've always considered it bad luck to blog about college life. Especially when I am just about to start a new semester or during times when my results are more than what I could ever ask for. Why? It is because I have realised that every time I blog about it, things just seem to take a complete 180 degree turn. Coincidence? Maybe. But, I can't say for sure. But then again what hasn't took a 180 degree turn every time I mention it or feel jubilant about it? Exactly! That's why, lately, I have resorted not to speak too much of anything or make predictions for anything or to defend so staunchly somethings which I may not have much control over. Yes, that includes soccer matches, Formula 1 races and also predictions for examination results.
Now, you may think that I am being unnecessarily superstitious or being a complete bum head. Well guess what, you have an unlikely comrade. Me! Yes, sometimes I do think that I am behaving extremely superstitious or whatever you may wish to call it. But just to let you in on one fact which you already may know by now, I am hardly superstitious. Just ask anybody, and they will tell you. But don't get me wrong on one issue though. I do believe in the paranormal or the supernatural world. A world which is parallel to ours. A world where beings which are dead live in. Yes, I have seen ghosts before. My father can talk to them. And unless you were at camp, I do not expect you to belive me.
But anyways, enough about superstitiousness or anything within that respect. The semester break ends in about two hours. Then its the start of the sophomore year for me. How do I expect it to go? Well, I don't know. Like I said before, predictions is way out of my league. We will just have to see how it goes. Sighs

My Blogging Adventure

My one hundred and fiftieth post in the year of 2007. And 2007 is only 125 days old. Therefore, according to the math, I have a 120% blogging rate. Which means I blog at a rate of 1.2 entries per day. An achievement you say? Well, I hardly think so. Who would? But anyways, lets get down to other things alright. I doubt I would ever find the words to describe my blogging journey. But if at all you do insist that I sum up my experience, I would have to say that the journey has indeed been fun and treacherous at the same time. Through blogging, I have managed to discover the many different parts or alter ego's as some of you may call it that reside within me. Some of them good but some which are not so good. Furthermore, through blogging, I have allowed myself to take a journey down memory lane, and revisit my past. No prizes for guessing which part I liked most. Yes, you there the girl with medium length hair. You got the right answer, but unfortunately, like I said earlier, this was a no brainer. Apart from taking a walk down memory lane and discovering my alter ego's, I also believe that through blogging, I have managed to hone my story telling skills. But of course, my discretion with words often does not reveal much about any of these stories. But then again, how would I know what runs through your mind everytime you read my posts? Am I not right? So what you make of my words really is up to the depth of your imagination or thought.
Now you might ask me, what gave me the inspiration to blog? To give your question a fair answer, which it probably deserves, I'd have to say peers and the sheer need to vent things out. I started my blogging adventure first with msn spaces. I posted a couple of entries and also an unfinished story. But the reason I left spaces was that I did not feel the mood to write. I therefore, now choose to blog at www.blogger.com. So there you have it, a brief story on my blogging adventure. Of course, this post is not completed yet as the day is late and I need to go and sleep. I might update this entry some other time. Take care yea.

A Very Hillarious Video

Here's one of those videos from Top Gear regarding a Malaysian car which in this case happens to involve the Perodua Kelisa. Here we can see Jeremy Clarkson's commentary of a product that happens to be the crown jewel of Malaysia. So without further delay, let us all watch whether or not this Malaysian car lives up to international standards. A true testament to Malaysian Quality.

Now here's something. Apparently, a Malaysian politician who saw this video got very upset. He, as expected, came to the Kelisa's defense. The words he said to defend it were absolutely hillarious if not downright stupid. He said that Clarkson was just like any other commentator who did not know anything about cars. Second he said that the Kelisa was indeed a good car because it had managed a sale of 2400 cars in the United Kingdom. Lets see, the sale of 2400 Kelisa's over the sale of tens of millions of other cars. Not even a percent.

Seig Uber Alles

To the dogs we proudly hail the 'seig heil'. Swastika armbands round our arms, we hold them perpedicular to our shoulders while screaming the words "Deutscheland uber alles" as our line of march coincides with the dreams the Fuhrer. "One Europe" he says. And one Europe we shall make it become. With kar 98k's and mp-40's hung round our bodies we march our orchestrated march forward, covered by the rumbles of our tanks towards the enemy. Never stopping even for a moment. For we know that the enemy is here and he has come to destroy us and he has the capability to do so. Eisenhower, his chiefs of staff and his generals are no fool when it comes to war. Their GI's, terribly stubborn. Not an inch boys, not an inch. But as we inch closer towards the enemy, suddenly, our tanks no longer rumble. Our footsteps no longer in unison, our weapons refusing to fire. Where are we? What has happened?

The Battle Of The Bulge

In case you didn't notice, the last time I blogged was 3 days ago. Now let's see, when was the last time I did that? Oh, I can answer that. Never. The longest I ever stayed away from blogging on this blog was for one day. One day, the 14th of March 2007. I had no inter related network (Internet)connection due to a surge in power caused by a bolt of lightning which disabled the circuits in my modem. This time, I had to send my computer for repair. But anyways there are indeed more important issues out there than the relatively trivial issue of me not blogging for 3 days. Therefore, I shall say not a word more about it.
Recently, I have been reading one of my old books which I had purchased at my secondary school's book fest two years ago. Its title is Battle of The Bulge. No, its not about battling an obesity problem which Mrs Aminah thought it was about and questioned me about loud and clear in front of class. This book is about a battle during World War 2 which took place in the Ardennes Forest in Belgium. The battle, which lasted for about a month or less caused about 70,000 casualties on both the Allied and Axis army. The Battle of The Bulge was a scheme by the Fuhrer Adolf Hitler. His plan was to launch an all out counter offensive against the Allied forces that were in Europe and to drive them out of Europe. This attack by Hitler came as a surprise to the Allies because no one was anticipating a German counter offensive anywhere along the Belgian line. Generals too were dubious about the German's capability of launching an assault half as massive of what they had launched on that day. Therefore this attack came as a complete surprise to the Allies. This battle too took place under the most unforgiving of conditions in which any soldier could have ever dreamed off. It was during the frigid winter month if December and the temperatures often fell to dangerous levels. There were not enough food, ammunition, reinforcements, armor or even winter cloths on the side of the Allies. Moreover, they hardly had any experienced GI's on that front. All of them were busy fighting other battles all over Europe. The Allies were dangerously outnumbered and under supplied. Every German commander expected a swift victory. But this never came as the Allied army fought hard and strong never surrendering a single inch of land to the bloodthirsty Krauts. But even under such horrific circumstances, the Allies miraculously won the battle. They crushed the German offensive along with any hopes of the Krauts winning World War 2. The Fuhrer, Hitler was distraught. He couldn't believe that he had lost the Battle. After all, how could such a large army, given the circumstances at which it fought lose to the Allies who were not only under supplied, but outnumbered? This question can be answered in two simple sentences. The Allies had the balls and the brains to do it. The Germans were simply too overconfident.
