Brawns

Who would have thought? After the end of last year, Honda Motor Company effectively ended its involvement in Formula 1 due to the economic downturn, leaving the future of its race team in limbo. In it, the jobs of almost 700 people and the development of their 2009 racer, were on the line. Just last week, the man who engineered all of Michael Schumacher's Championships, Ross Brawn, bought the ex-Honda team and renamed it Brawn GP. However, with significantly lesser track testing times, they weren't expected to make much of an impact on the pecking order. However, today, about a week after launching, their car is almost 1 second faster than everybody else. I know enough, not to read too much into testing times, but 1 second? That is a huge enough gap to know that something is going on... But of course, I will still be rooting for Kimi. After what happened last year, he needs to win it this year. But deservingly so will be some of the other guys like Vettel, Kubica and the lot.
I hope it turns out to be a great season, just like last year where the championship was won and lost in the last corner.
