Over the horizon,
Storm clouds build.
The darkness they bring along,
Erases the light of the sun.
The waves build,
Like a leviathan,
They crash upon the sandy shores.
Its towering waves,
Humbling even the most arrogant of seafarer.
Its winds pounding homes,
Crashing into nearby homes,
Sending the villagers into a frantic flee,
Blowing away all hope.
Out in the ocean,
There is a boat.
A small fishing boat,
The owner an old man.
Caught in the middle,
He is pounded and beaten by the storm.
His weatherbeaten arms barely hanging on.
His boat no longer seaworthy.
His catch returned to the sea.
He calls for help,
But his voice drowned out.
Drowned out by the screams of the storm.
But he never gives up.
Choosing to fight instead
Taking on the storm alone,
He is outnumbered.
He is outgunned.
But instead of giving in to fear,
He gives in to faith instead.
He calls out a prayer.
As soon as he does,
A wave crashes down upon him.
Sending him to the bottom of the ocean.
Taking the live of one more human.
An honest fighter.
