The Innocent Child

The innocence of a child, taken advantage of by men and women who believe in the unproven. The innocence if a child, robbed mercilessly by the irresponsible who only wish to spread words which they themselves can't quite verify its origins nor its authors. The innocence of a child manipulated and converted into a monstrosity. Since when did we allow a child of only eleven to behead another man just because he was deemed an infidel? Since when did we teach a child to isolate another child just because he does not share the same book as he is? Since when was a child told to kill and die in the honor of his father?
As we walk down this increasingly darkening path, we often fall prey to Samaritans who say that they can offer us hope and rid us of this darkness. But instead of doing as thy promised. They renege on their words. Instead, they lead us children into more darkness. Some of us make it out, but not all of us are fortunate enough.
As this goes on, it makes me wonder, what period in time are we living in? Do we still live in medieval times in which the cauldron brimmed with molten oil is used to differentiate the innocent from the guilty? Do we still live in times in which folklore is taken more seriously than concrete proof? Do we still live in times where those that are different from us are isolated and eventually burned on the stake in the middle of a public square? If you have answered no to all of these questions, why then do you still follow the blind who themselves don't know the truth? Why then do you condone the rape of an innocent child's life?
